Custard25

From DotelTech

One of the strangest lawsuits I've been in. Customer never once came to us to talk about problem, never called, never filed a complaint. Just went straight to Sue. The judge immediately threw this out of court, but just boggles the mind it got there in the first place.

What happened from our point of view:

Customer comes in, buys a brand new computer. Takes computer home. This is the end of what we know happened.

Now for what we assume happened based on testimony:

Customer comes in, buys new computer. Takes computer home. Sets up new computer. Takes old computer out to dumpster. Wait 2 weeks. Turn on new computer. Wonder where all your information is. Sue.

Evidently it was our responsibility to tell the customer that computers purchased off the shelf don't come with your personal data factory installed. I feel bad for Dell or HP, having to keep track of the personal data for millions of people.
